When you’ve read the instructions, click the “Access Deck” button to get your deck link. Bookmark it, save it, or put it on your home screen.
Using the deck
Tap Pull a card. You get one dare.
Do it that day if you can. Then tap I did it and your count goes up.
Pull another whenever you want one. There's no schedule and nothing that breaks if you skip a few days. Some days you'll pull three. Some weeks you won't open it at all. The deck stays where you left it.
You won't see the same dare twice until you've been through all 52. When you finish the whole deck, you can reshuffle and run it again.
Putting it on your home screen
You don't have to do this. The link works fine from your bookmarks or your text messages, and plenty of people use it that way.
Here's why most people do it anyway. Tapping an icon takes one second, and digging through your browser history takes a minute of scrolling past everything else you've looked at this week. A deck you can't find easily is a deck you stop pulling from. When it's sitting on your home screen next to your other apps, you'll see it during the day and remember to pull a card.
It also opens full screen that way, with no browser bars across the top and bottom, so it looks and feels like a real app.
On an iPhone
Open your deck link in Safari. This has to be Safari, since Chrome on iPhone doesn't offer this.
Tap the share button at the bottom of the screen. It's the square with an arrow pointing up out of it.
Scroll down the list of options until you see Add to Home Screen.
Tap it, then tap Add in the top right corner.
You'll find the Go First icon on your home screen.
On an Android phone
Open your deck link in Chrome.
Tap the three dots in the top right corner.
Tap Add to Home screen or Install app, depending on your phone.
Tap Add or Install to confirm.
The icon lands on your home screen.
A few things worth knowing
Your progress lives on the device you use. If you pull cards on your phone and then open the deck on your laptop, the laptop starts you at zero. Pick one device and stay with it.
It works without a signal once you've opened it the first time.
Save your link somewhere safe. Email it to yourself or write it down. If you get a new phone, that link is how you get your deck back.
If you clear your browser data, your count resets to zero. The dares are all still there.
One rule
Pull the card before you decide whether you're in the mood for it.
Deciding first is the habit this deck exists to break.
Doing it imperfectly still counts.
